Then Lily's Hope breaks behind the field; makes a bid, but falters to fifth.....Come right back with Bim Bam who doesn't have the best of trips and......
Photo finish......2nd....sigh...... I watch one more online before heading out for the live racing; it's my longshot selection of the day: Hear Yea Hear Yea. Leaves the post at 11/1 and is stalking the leaders, makes a winning move on the turn, only to have my third choice (at 9/2) slip through on the rail and beat him....2nd AGAIN!
In the Distaff Mile Amazing sets an easy pace, opens up by a clear three lengths in deep stretch. I'm filming with my FlipCam of my big win, when at the wire I see a flash of another horse....who's that???!!!!
It's so close you can hardly see my jockey and horse (note the red arrows) - PHOTO FINISH, again; and the result...I'm 2nd AGAIN!
Finally, my "BEST" of the Day! Duke of Mischief is the 4/5 I was hoping for. I can't believe Birdrun goes off at 6/5!
As you can see Duke of Mischief consistently runs triple Beyer speed figures and is a THREE-TIME graded stakes winner. Birdrun has a single triple Beyer, but that was against allowance runners; his only attempt at a graded stakes was a dismal 5th beaten 12 lengths.
Duke of Mischief stalked Birdrun to the turn, moved to him effortlessly and took the lead. Again I started filming with my FlipCam and as the winner pulls away I'm thinking I hit my "BEST" only to look up and see it is the #6 winning - Birdrun came back and put the Duke away....I ran 2nd...AGAIN!!!!!!
